Day 165 - Talking about the Lap Band

Had a late night last night, listening to Powderfinger and chilling out on the sofa when all of a sudden at 11.45pm I got a huge burst of energy and decided to clean and tidy my pantry out. Like what the???

You know I have to say that ever since I have had the lap band I get these huge bursts of energy and its amazing that I follow through with this energy. My house has never been cleaner!!

My aunt is having her Lapband surgery today like I mention yesterday and fuck I am so anxious and antsy for her. I plan on speaking to her daughter Gee after tonight’s entry. I hope all goes well and I don’t know why I am feeling so anxious for her.

On the food front all has been rather good these last couple of days I am not hungry but managing only 4 meals a day comfortably and the other 2 meals I have been fighting with. I have decided to take a different approach and that approach is to basically attempt a liquid breakfast and lunch and eat something a bit more substantial come 3pm (like a slice of cheese or some almonds/walnuts, or a third of a tub of yoghurt) I notice that I start to walk around my work place searching for food and feeling distracted. Then come home to a normal dinner. I find that I don’t have spewages when I stick to liquids for the first half of my day.

I went for a run first thing this morning and I am pleased to say that I burnt the bitumen today. It felt great. I’m pretty sure Elvis enjoyed the run as all I could see were his precious ears just flapping in the wind. It was great to be out there running. I managed only 28 minutes but I am not too fazed as I aim to build up to 35 minutes by the end of November.

I have been talking a lot about the lapband these last few days with family, with friends, with prospective bandits and so forth and I really, REALLY want to stress that we are all individuals, what has happened or what applies to me does not necessarily mean or equate that it will happen to you. We are all different and our bodies all work differently. The rate that I lose weight most likely wont be the same rate that you lose weight. What I am trying to say is that MY JOURNEY IS NOT GOSPEL. It’s indeed just my journey. (ManBoy is that okay? No one can sue me now right?)

Also I am not “responsible” for your weight loss, or for your failures, that’s what you pay your surgeons for. In other words, if you need to blame somebody for your slow weight loss then I am more than happy to be an ear or a shoulder to cry on but don’t blame me. Ok, let me say what I really want to say…Don’t rain on my parade please!!! Coz’ my I love my parade and I am happy to be alive and I am happy to have had this surgery and all this negativity well it sorta does my head in.

Look at my blog as a form of light entertainment. Not as a “bible” to lap banding. The only expertise I have in anything is on being ME. I only know ME inside out and that is the only level of expertise that I have.

Anyways…good luck to all the punters for tomorrows Melbourne Cup!
Peace Out!
