Day 27 – Gas

Each and every day a new obstacle comes my way. The last few days I have been feeling hungry but today bought me absolutely no hunger whatsoever but severe gas.

As I climbed out of bed I let out the hugest, loudest, ripper …BURP (you all thought I was going to say fart right? Tut tut) It reminded me of those burps that come up when you’ve had a gallon or two of Coke. It was a ripper and I couldn’t stop giggling.

As I walked down my hallway another thunderous BURP came out. It was hysterical and I was pissing myself laughing. Simple things amuse simple minds I guess. Hahaha!!!

As I was attempting to tame my hair I put both my arms up to place a bobby pin in my hair and this thunderous, colossal, earth vibrating, ear deafening BURP came out of me. It was massive and by this stage sheer hysteria had seriously taken over. What a pleasant way to start my day.

I got to work and everything was going well. At about 9.30am I got this pressure gassy type of pain coming from my chest wall and it felt like I had a volcano about to erupt. I have this silly habit of rubbing my chest when I want to burp. I can’t explain why I do this but I think in my silly little head it makes the burp come out quicker. I have been doing this for a few years now. So God knows why I do the things I do.

Anyway, I tried to push the burp out but it was lodged right in the centre of my chest. I’m sure you Bandits have experienced this. Thankfully I remembered that I had a packet of De-Gas tablets in my handbag. I took two and waited patiently, and then 15 odd minutes later the most heavenly relief. I burped and burped and burped it felt awesome.

I wanted to share my joy of burping with a work colleague and I had a quip all prepared, I was going to tell them that I felt like Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with all this burping. Unfortunately I had no one around me to share. It is such a relief when those darn burps come out.

A few hours later I started to sip on some peppermint tea as the gas pain was starting up again. It was a strange day with gas pains. But I gotta say the burps coming out of me were priceless. They were darn rippers.

For all who are about to be banded I highly recommend you buy both the peppermint tea and De-Gas tablets they will be of great use.

God Bless De-Gas tablets and peppermint tea!!!

Ever since the op, I haven't had a problem with gas. I have cut down alot of the soft drink I used to drink before the band. It was straight after the op that I felt like a helium balloon, but once all that initial stuff settled I've been good ever since. I've got some de-gas tablets going cheap!!
