Sick Elvis

Elvis with IV drip bandage
Oh my! What a long and tiring week I have had. As I have mentioned this entire week I have had a very sick dog. Sleep has been non-existent and I got a taste of what it must be like if you are a working mum with young kids.
Last night I was awoken on the hour every hour to let Elvis out for a wee. Ohmigod, it was so hard to wake up and walk to the back door and let my babe out for a leak. Then I had to cuddle him to stop him from shivering. I have trouble falling asleep usually and last night was no exception. It just felt like the second I closed my eyes I had to open them again and let Elvis out. It was extreme hard work and I want to personally applaud each and every one of you who is a mum and endures this for longer than one week. You ladies are fucking amazing and I don’t know how you do it.
Well, basically the entire week I have centered all my attention to Elvis. We have spent the majority of each and every day at the vets. It was extremely heartbreaking to see my little man attached to an IV drip and see the energy zapped out of my very lively dog. For all that know my Elvis you know that he is a little terrorist and terminator. He has the most energetic temperament, the most happy nature, a cheeky personality and the dog is full force, full energy non-stop 24 hours a day, (he even twitches and moves in his sleep!!!). So to watch him go from that to this lethargic, weak, zonked out dog was such a shock.
Personally, I haven’t managed to eat much or do much of anything to be honest. It’s amazing how strong I become all due to exhaustion, which was a shock I must admit. I kept talking myself into lasting the distance. It’s amazing how talking to oneself and believing in oneself can push you and make you go farther. Fucking A man!!!
Work wise, I am loving my job. I think I have finally found that little hole that I am supposed to be in. I got a whole pile of work done today and I felt very chuffed with myself. Job satisfaction, gotta love it.
I had a huge fight with Alister tonight via sms and sometimes I think that guy is so fucking high maintenance. I was almost ready to throw my mobile into the rubbish bin as he was irritating the fuck out of me. Thank Christ I am single and not having to commit to a man 100% I think I would have slit my wrists by now. I cannot tolerate needy people. Gross. ManBoy is doing well but studying hard as he has exams in 2 weeks time so I have left him alone (and I basically have been too busy with Elvis to really care about either one of them)
So tonight, in fact my entire weekend is going to be focused and based around home and Elvis and getting some rest and sleep. I am sure that my parents will be dropping in throughout the weekend to check up on their “grandson”. As boring as this weekend is going to be it’s all good.
Thanks to all of you for your encouraging and supportive comments, emails, phone calls and sms. I really appreciate your support.
Peace Out!

there glad to hear that you are back on track and that Elvis is doing much better. Had to take my baby- 7.5 month German Shepherd, "Rua" ( full name Rua Tallula Rae) for her big op yesterday. She had her Dew Claws, Desexing, Microchipping and Booster Shot. She looked up at me last night with a look that said "How could you" but is looking much brighter and chirpier this morning. Wants to jump and pounce on me but we have to keep her quiet. Amazingly they don't tell you how to do that exactly. With Shepherds, they are pups until about 7 years old.
She is a talented dog. Transformed my token manicured lawn into early Iraq War landscape and has rid my backyard of weeds. Problem is that she really hasn't done the horticultural course to determine weeds and therefore everything is fair game. God Bless her!!!
Get lots of sleep over the weekend.

Hey All
Jules - You know I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you around to leave your comments. You always manage to make me laugh. Its amazing how our dogs give us that look of "Whaddya doin' to me ma?" Are you serious that a German Shep is a pup for up to 7 years?!#$?
Sandra - Elvis says many thanks as does his mother for your well wishes. How great are you looking girl? You look amazing.
"Bee" - Elvis needs his Daisy! Our kids have got to meet up.
Thanks again guys for reading and leaving your comments.
