Day 12 – Boredom is starting to set in.

It’s been 12 days since I was lap banded. I cannot believe that 12 days have already passed. I feel like it was only last week.

I’ve been off work since the 24th May and I’m not due to go back until the 13th June. I cant believe I am saying this but I'm really starting to miss work and boredom is definitely setting in.

Anyways, I awoke this morning and was wanting to stay in my pyjamas for the bulk of the day. I sat on the sofa wrapped in my blankee sipping a latte and then drifting in and out of sleep. When I woke up I noticed a slight stitch like pain where my port site is located. I didn’t bother with taking any pain relief but decided to ride the pain and to keep mobile. I tidied my house and rearranged my pantry. The pains would come and go and at one point it felt like I was being stabbed in the stomach. The pain was a quick, fast stab and made me gasp out aloud. Thankfully the pain just stopped. Just like that.

In the afternoon my boss Andrew came to visit me and he said that I looked different. I took that as a compliment. We had a coffee and a good laugh. I enjoy hanging out with Andrew, he is a cool boss and I adore him like a brother and I look up to Andrew for advice, support and friendship.

After Andrew left I decided to go shopping and after I got dressed I noticed that my denim skirt was a little loose around the bum and waist areas. I was so excited, I could have cried from sheer joy, instead I did my happy dance up and down my hallway whilst swinging a pair of tights around my head!!! hahaha!!!

I placed my pedometer on and spent a good 4 hours at The Glen Shopping Centre walking around. In 4 hours I managed to do 7,456 steps!!! I walked from one end of the Glen to the other and then I went walking through the car park. Yes folks!! I walked through the upper and underground car park. How hysterical is that?

So my lesson today? Is to keep on moving.

P.S - the above photograph is a photo of my pedometer
