Day 10 (Sunday 03rd June) I woke up this morning itchy all over. I had already had the bulk of my dressings taken off during the week by my surgeon but he had left 4 strips on my longest scar.
These had begun to blister and were so damn itchy. I was so desperate for them to come off. I went into the bathroom and slowly ripped them off. Ahhhh relief. What a feeling. I jumped in the shower and freshened up. Now I felt human again.
I had Maria come and visit me this morning, which was nice. As soon as I opened the front door she gasped and said “oh My God!!!” you look fantastic. I was shocked initially with her reaction. She came in and looked me up and down and said “Reney you are looking good” It was so nice to hear that. Now I have only lost 7 kilos and it isn’t an enormous amount of weight, and I have so much more to lose but it was just so nice to hear her words.
After Maria left I went shopping with Vicki and we sat down and had a coffee. It was nice to sit with Vicki and talk about something other than my lap band. I enjoy talking about my experience but I don’t want it to be the only thing that people talk to me about. Does that make any sense?
Overall I had a really pleasant day.
