So why something so extreme like The Lap Band?
Well I had tried everything and I was basically over life. I decided that I was either going to continue going the way I was going which was basically turning into an obese 37 year old who would most likely be dead from a stroke or heart attack by the time she was 45. OR I could start to live again.
I started dieting again and lost a few kilos but I was always starving. Then I read about Mikey Robbins in The Herald Sun and was absolutely positively intrigued on exactly what he had done. Now how great does Mikey Robbins look? I have a picture of him from the paper and I carry it around in my purse. I look at it when I need that bit of inspiration.
From the time I read that article, my research began. I spent an average of 3 hours a day on the internet researching what this Lap Band Surgery was. Thats 3 hours, 7 days a week over 4 months. I researched and investigated and tried to absorb as much information as was humanly possible. My decision was made and no matter what anyone thought my mind was now made up.
I then researched who was going to be my surgeon. I kept going back to SB ( I will disclose my surgeons name once I get the okay from him) I was familiar with Dr SB as I had worked in the medical industry for 10 odd years and he was a well respected surgeon. I spoke to my previous employer who is also my GP and before I could blink I was handed a referral and that was that.
